胰岛素是由胰脏内的胰岛β细胞分泌,分子量约 5800,等电点在 5.4 左右的一种蛋白质激素。

  A6-A11、A7-B7、A20-B-19 之间形成二硫键,在酸性溶液或者不含 Zn 离子的中性水溶液中形成二聚体,在含锌离子的中性溶液中,则形成含2个 Zn 离子的六聚体。

肝脏、肌肉、脂肪组织是主要的靶组织,分别有以下的作用。

肝脏:促进糖原、蛋白质、脂肪酸合成、促进糖类的摄取和利用、抑制糖异生。

肌肉:糖类、氨基酸、K细胞膜通透性增大、促进糖原、蛋白质的合成、抑制蛋白质分解。

脂肪组织:葡萄糖细胞膜通透性增大、促进脂肪酸的合成。

胰岛素是细胞内的合成单链胰岛素原通过二硫键结合一起形成的。在酶分解作用下被激活,C肽和胰岛素分离。
